Corralejo - Diving Holiday Destination
Corralejo (Canary Islands)
The Canary Islands are a group of seven islands in the Atlantic, off the north-west coast of Africa. They enjoy year round sun and holidays are there are inexpensive and easy to arrange.
One of the main attractions of Fuerteventura for followers of all watersports is the fairly constant year round temperature of the water. The Canaries stream is responsible for the fairly constant sea temperature, and this results in an abundance of sea life, that makes diving such a pleasure.
Corralejo is the main town in the north of the island, and has a marine reserve nearby. There are beaches and dunes for sun worshippers.
Climate
The weather varies on all the Canary Islands. For example, the north of Tenerife is not generally as warm or sunny as the south. Fuerteventura is no different, as each part has its own microclimate that depends on its orientation and how the local geographical features are arranged. Fuerteventura benefits from cooling breezes due to it's location within the region where the trade winds blow.
Air Temperatures vary from 28 degrees celsius in August to 21 degrees in January. Generally dry all year round, with most rainfall occuring in December.
