lanzarote is part of the canary islands, it is very dry and the waters (north atlantic) are warm and clear.
Climate
hot but windy
Dive Facts
i went diving with a school called calipso diving which is situated in costa teguise, it is owned by a guy called peter monk(top bloke)his staff are superb, the school is about 500 mtrs from a small cresent shaped beach which has golden sands and very warm and gin clear water, this is ideal for try dives and basic open water skills. the marine life is in abundance such as rainbow wrasse, ornate wrasse, picarel, common dentex, hermit crabs, parrot fish and many small fish
Dive Attractions
peter and his staff will collect you from your hotel, and drive you to the school where you size up for equipment, they will drive you to many of the dive sites including mala, puerto del carmen, etc. i must admit the volcanic formations at mala are to seen to be believed and the small wreck at pdc is fab at 30 mtrs the viz is outstanding i would highly recommend calipso and lanzarote to all divers of all levels
