Playa Blanca (Canary Islands)
The Canary Islands are a group of seven islands in the Atlantic, off the north-west coast of Africa. They enjoy year round sun and holidays are there are inexpensive and easy to arrange.
At the very north of the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean, the small island of Lanzarote is close to Africa's coast. Lanzerote - Land of a Thousand Volcanoes’ – this unique island of spent lava fields is recognised as a World Biosphere Reserve. But amidst this lunar like landscape are fabulous beaches, palm oases, and a cultural history that can be enjoyed throughout the year, thanks to its wonderful climate.
It has Year-round diving and sunshine. Multiple wrecks and caves, mainly shore diving
Abundant ocean life - lots of colourful fish!
Large life include rays, angel sharks and groupers. Most dive sites are on the South facing coastline. Playa Blanca is situated in the south of Laqnzerote. A quieter resort, it still has all the usual amenities, shops, bars and restaurants.
Climate
The weather varies on all the Canary Islands. For example, the north of Tenerife is not generally as warm or sunny as the south. Lanzerote is no different, as each part has its own microclimate that depends on its orientation and how the local geographical features are arranged.
Lanzarote is cooler in the summer than the Mediterranean , but much warmer in the winter. The air temperature ranges between 22 o C and 29 o C, with an annual rainfall of 150mm, and 70% average humidity.

Dive Attractions
The diversity of dive sites and wrecks, caves, sea life, perfect sandy shallow training areas, there is something new to see all the time. For beginner through to experienced divers, its accessible and well equipped year-round. It is famous in the tech diving world for its underwater caves and caverns. The famous cave diver Shek Exley has attempted more than once, the long cave running out from Jameos del Agua in the north of Lanzarote.
Dolphins, angel sharks, giant Atlantic ray, electric ray, eagle ray, tiger moray, sea horse, cuttle fish, octopus, sand eel, stargazer, tuna, and more, are all hoped for sitings.
Sites include:
Playa Jablillo - 5m, perfect beginner dive. Beach entry, confined water, lots of sea life.
Los Erizos Wrecks - 18m or 38m dive, 5 wrecks, drop-off, often rays and moray eels.
Charco Del Palo - 20m, abundant caves and swim-throughs, stunning lava-scapes, angel shark zone. Cathedral - 30m, large cavern, groupers, and champagne swimming experience (bubbles through porous rock).
Red coral - 30m, beautiful reef drop-offs, large groupers, sponges, nudibranchs.
