Off the south point of the island is one of the worlds most spectacular dive sites, Punta Sur Reef: famous among divers for its challenge and beauty.

This advanced dive begins at depths of 90’ and drops to the abyss.  Much of your time can be spent inside the reef, exploring the many caves, caverns and overhangs that make up this magnificent site.

Here the adventurous can explore the Devil's Throat, a dark tunnel that starts 90 feet below the surface and ends at a 130-foot sunlit opening. The Cathedral Cave is another attraction with large sponges and stone deposits forming a large cross on the cave's ceiling where the light enters. Suitable only for those diver with advanced certification. It is part of the Parque Marino de Cozumel

Visibility often exceeds 200 feet and the area is frequently visited by eagle rays and turtle.
