Los Arcos Reef
Depths: 21m (70’) – 30m (100’)
Visibility: 30m (100’)
Conditions: Strong Currents can occur
Los Arcos is a deeper dive that is suitable only for more experienced divers due to its sometimes stronger currents.
Los Arcos is named after its two arches, which shelter moray eels, schools of fish and lots of crustaceans. It also has a 5m high wall section which is covered by sponges, sea fans and hard corals. In the sandy areas, groupers, stingray and turtle gather.
When the water is cooler its possible to see Bull Sharks on their migration routes and, more rarely, whale sharks, mantas and other large mamals.
Dives normally start at the southern end of the reef, with a free decent to the bottom.
