Located: 100m south of Puerto Aventuras, Site is just down some stairs from close to the gear tables.

The Chac Mool Dive Site is popular due to it’s proximity to Puerto Aventuras, and is usually recommended as a must do dive.

There are two water entries into Chac Mool, with both of them leading into the same two interconnecting caverns.

Both caverns are large, with one being bigger than the other. The main entrance into the larger room has more water exposed, with branches reaching into the water, and on sunny days allows for an amazing experience in terms of light playing.

At 33ft where fresh and salt water meet is a halocline effect, which creates misty, fascinating visuals. In the smaller cavern, there is a partial collapse of the ceiling. Divers can also dive down to view stunning stalactites, some of the largest in the World.
